Problem
Vague & Limiting Branding
Originally named Coast to Coast Murphy Beds, this company was in need of a rebrand that fully encompassed all that they do and one that would modernize their company aesthetics. In addition to hand-crafting quality murphy beds, they also create custom storage solutions to organize closets, pantries and laundry rooms at affordable prices. Unfortunately, their old brand and logo wasn’t living up to their needs or properly representing their company with its outdated look and slightly vague description.

New Branding
A Clarifying Name Change
Someone once said, “A brand is the sum total of how someone perceives a particular organization. Branding is about shaping that perception.” Our first step in shaping the perception of this “mom & pop” shop was to address the business name. “Coast to Coast” was the main focus and didn’t give the viewer an immediate education on who they are and what they do. After a few iterations, Murphy Beds & Storage Solutions was born. It’s concise and immediately tells exactly what they do- expanding to show that they also create custom storage cabinets and shelving fixtures. With such a niche business, being straight to the point is important in order to grab the attention of potential customers.
A New Modern Look With Coastal Feel
The next process in reshaping this company’s image was designing a logo and implementing a color palette that was modern and evocative of trust and success. Being a Florida coast company, it was important to them that we were able to incorporate that coastal feel- which is what we did with the color palette choice. It has a modern feel with the stark black but also incorporates the blues and teals of the ocean. The logo design is a fun play on the functionality of a Murphy Bed with the M giving the illusion of folding out.
A brand is the sum total of how someone perceives a particular organization. Branding is about shaping that perception.
